英文--感谢用语

在日常对话中，一提起“感谢”或“感激”，我们通常会想到最常用的英语单词“thank”。学过英语的人都会说类似的感谢语，如Thanks，Thanks a lot，Thank you very much，Thank you for your help等。其实，在英文信函往来或对外交流中，除了thank以外，还比较经常使用appreciate这个词来表示感谢。下面是一些常见的例句： 　

　1、We appreciate your efforts for the development of the company.　我们感谢你对公司发展所作的努力。

　2、We greatly appreciate your timely help.　我们非常感谢你们及时的帮助。 　

　3、I'd appreciate it if you would turn the TV down.　请你把电视机的音量调低一些。 　

　4、I appreciate your telling me the truth.　感谢你告诉我真相。 　　

 

值得注意的是，appreciate是及物动词，当它表示“感谢”时，它的宾语通常是人做的事，而并不是人本身，这一点与中文表达习惯完全不同。所以，我们不可以说I would be much appreciated if you could send me the reply as soon as possible. 而应该说成It would be much appreciated if you could send me the reply as soon as possible. 或者是I would much appreciate it if you could send me the reply as soon as possible.
