Inbound, outbound, inside and outside

Inbound, outbound, inside and outside

There are two concepts at play, "side", which involves the associated host being connected through the "inside" of the PacketShaper, or the "outside" of the PacketShaper, and "direction", which involves the source and destination of the flow being on the inside and outside of the PacketShaper.

Inbound traffic is traffic coming from a host connected to the outside interface, traveling to a host connected to the inside interface.
Outbound traffic is traffic from a host connected to the inside interface, traveling to a host connected via the outside interface.
