Summary and reflection

这一部分描写老人出海捕鱼的过程，途中捕到一只海豚，之后拼尽浑身解数捕到一条大鱼，可是由于小船无法承载大鱼，返程途中遇到几只鲨鱼围攻，第一次是马科鲨，第二次是两条铲鼻鲨，老人英勇战斗，最终成功脱险。

文中多处环境描写细腻生动，恰如其分地渲染了当时的环境氛围，人物心理活动刻画细致入微，形象鲜明，有血有肉。

1. I wonder why he jumped, the oldman thought.He  jumped almost as though to show how big he was. I know now, anyway, he thought. I wish I could show him what sort of man I am.(老人猜想大鱼跃出水面一定是在向他展示自己的身躯和威力，他也在向大鱼展示自己的意志和智慧。一个本能的动作，在作者的笔下也带着灵气一般，大鱼像人一样有了思想，向人宣战，老人也无所畏惧，迎接挑战，这无疑是人与自然之间的一场较量。）
