'To end our special news bulletin,' said the voice of the televison announcer, 'we are
going to visit the macaroni of Calabria, where macaroni has been grown for over six
hundred years. Two of the leading grower, Giuseppe Moldove and Riccardo Brabante
tell us that they have been expecting a bumper harvest this year and have been
gathering it earlier than ususal. Here you can see two workers who have been busy
cutting the macaroni stalks. The entire village has also been busy reaping the harvest
before the September rains. On the right, Mrs. Brabante who has been helping her
husband for over thirty years is now talking to the manager of the local factory about the process of macaroni. At the end of show, we will report on the well-known Calabrian macaroni-eating competition and the present champion Signor Fratelli who has won
this competition since 1991. And that ends our special bulletion for today, Thursday,
April 1st. We're going back to the studio.'
