--Read Felt Pride and Prejudice
The first book I read is Pride and Prejudice, after I go to the college. It is like opening a new field for me to comprehend the Western concept of marriage. On the same time, all sorts of feelings are welling up inside to me.
It is an era about “a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” This means two things, the property is everything; the marriage is the only way out of the woman. Quite brutal condition, this is. But the writer—Jane Austen bring us more warmth and fragrant. Such as the Jane and Bingley; Elizabeth and Darcy. Maybe all of them have defect, but we can see the love is the most precious thing in the end of the story. It is such a brave heart to prove the love’s meaning, in that vanity, class distinct and poor property relations epoch, the story about Jane and Darcy give us a beauty hope to aspire ourselves happiness.
“I love you, most ardently.” said Darcy. He is nearly a perfect man. He has fine feature, noble behavior, manful attitude, and virtuous heart. But people measure a person just because his wealth, they said he is good when they known he had ten thousand income a year. Elizabeth is a warm, lively, and sane country girl. She wants a partner have mutual affinity, and lay emphasis on the man’s character more than wealth. This is the source of pride and prejudice. Fortunately, they express the thought clearly and toleration enough, so that they can get married in the finally.
It makes me think deeply, the pride and prejudice is the leading actor’s trouble for the love. In our lifetime, we also may make some wrong judge, cause our subjective mood or others evaluation. It makes me awareness that people have too many defects, especially the spiritual trap. Whatever the knowledge, career or love, it always need our to fight with the soul’s shadow and pitfall, through a continuous process of repeated recognition, overcome the weakness and problems, and then be free, easy and release.
