PART I.  The Activity Of Reading

      作为一个学生，我觉得会有很多人想要去读一本英文原著。但是当我们一想到有那么多的生单词就立马打起了退堂鼓，所以现在呢，我就把老师给我们推荐的这本书也推荐给你们，希望对你们会有所帮助。

      我刚读完chapter 1（To the Average Reader），所以接下来我会分享一些我的收获，发表一下自己的观点。

      首先作者告诉我们有一个年轻人希望他能告诉帮助自己如何 improve his reading，just in a few sentences.

      接下来又点明这个年轻人是一个 musician，他也不能用几句话去告诉作者 how to listen to music as a musician expected.

     

    从他们所说的我们就可以看出无论是做音乐还是做学问都有一个共同点，那就是：没有捷径。正如文中所提到的：Knowing how to read a book well was like any other art or skill. Only willingness to learn and patience in the process were required.

      一本书，无论读多少次，我们总会发现一些新的东西。我们总会觉得有些书里面没什么学的，太无聊了，或者是写得什么啊，都看不懂。之所以会这么认为是因为我们没有完全的投入进去，会浮躁，其实也有一点就是我们自己本事的问题，就是知识储备不够。

我能怎么办

    现在 college students 一直在想一个问题：我毕业之后又不当老师，不出国，不当建筑师，不当医生……那我为什么还要学这个专业呢？我现在学的专业那么冷门，以后又不挣钱，我干嘛还要学呢？我学了这个专业以后干嘛呢？……总是有很多的问题，总是在纠结。还有的学生只是想要一个证，一个毕业证，毕业之后也就只剩下一个证了。

    我们应该明白：Reading （knowledge）is education，not stuffing.  /  No matter whether the reading is to learn or to earn，it can be done poorly or well.
