Skyscrapers start from scratch

Honestly speaking, my dream is to be hired by The Economist Group. As to fulfill this dream, I have searched for job related themes in their website. After Looking through necessary qualifications, I realize that right now I cannot meet the majority of it, like minimum of eight years’ work experience in specific fields. In spite of this, I do find there are some basic ability requirements, such as fluency in spoken and written English, high proficiency of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and impressive academic achievement in the college etc. Although I am still far away from most of these erquirements, I believe I could at least hone those fundamental skills within recent years.

As we all know, no matter how high a skyscraper is, its construction process must start from scratch. Similarly, succeeding in realizing my dream should also begin with a solid knowledge base, thus I make a todo list of basic skills for further enhancement. I know todos below are somewhat vague, insufficient or too big to execute, but I will make them more feasible and detailed later.

Here is my dream related todo list:

• Develop English speaking and writing skills
• Gain a great grip of Office Suite(Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Read a wide range of books for broadening different types of knowledge
