Air  kiss

在英国社交场合与人打招呼或告别的时候，经常会象征性地给对方 air kisses，

动词形式就是 to air-kiss。

例子

Woman: tell me — did you kiss her?

Man: Well, I air-kissed her. Does that count?  那么也算吗

Woman: No， it does not!

A slap in the face

字面意思是“一记耳光”。实际是一个形容“受到打击”的表达。

通常表现自己对原本报有很高希望的事情最后没能成功而感到无比失望。

例子

After all the extra work we put in,

it was a slap in the face not to win the contract.

毕竟我们做了很多额外工作，最后没能拿到合同，真太让人失望了。

It was a bit of a slap in the face actually.
