Blindfold chess(also known assans voir) is a form of chess play where in the players do not see the positions of the pieces or touch them. This forces players to maintain a mental model of the positions of the pieces. Moves are communicated via a recognized chess notation.

何为生理表征？第三章开头讲述了这样一件事情：
1924年4月27日，俄罗期国际象棋大师Alexandre Alekhine，接受26位优秀棋手的盲棋挑战。所谓盲棋，就是不看棋盘，只听工作人员说出对方走的棋，然后说出自己的应招。阿廖欣最终赢了17局，输了5局，和了4局。
大师的这种能力称之为心理表征：
一种与我们大脑正在思考的某个物体、某个观点、某些信息或其它任何事物相对应的心理结构，或具体或抽象。
心理表征和刻意练习有什么关系呢？
刻意练习就是创建心理表征，完善对事物理解、记忆的过程。将杰出人物和普通人区别出来的主要因素是他们经过年复一年的练习，已经改变了大脑中的神经回路，创建了高度专业化的心理表征。

有助于找出规律，预测未来
拿足球来举例，球场上，球员为响应来球而跳动，以及其它球员的跳动，都是有规律可循的，其中的规律有着细微的差别，并且在持续不断的变化，最优秀的球员几乎在一瞬间就能辨别出规律，并做出响应。
有助于解释信息
心理表征有助于理解和解读信息，把它保存在记忆之中，组织它、分析它，并用它来决策。对于一则关于足球比赛的新闻故事，决定某个人理解程度的关键因素并不是阅读或者语言能力，而是对这项运动有多了解。
