My Working Notes 1 | Interview：Why Asking Those Questions

我是Smart，目前主要负责斯麦德商务英语（SMT）的公众号运营，选题、码字、编辑、发布、反馈搜集是我一天的主要工作。每个工作日围绕“职场、商业动态、理论工具”的三篇英文原创（今天又增加了一个版块），对我而言是个不小的挑战，特别是Working Notes这个版块。

前三天的Working Notes写得很是顺手，但是今天，在电脑前敲敲打打了两个多小时，还是一键Delete。

是我这几天一直在思考的三个问题。就在这短短的几天中，我也逐渐从知识汲取转化为知识输出，在不断尝试不断沟通的过程里，可以肯定的是，与SMT公众号一起成长，会是一段值得纪念的旅程。

因此，我不仅会记录运营公众号的心得体会，也将PO上公众号前一天发布的working notes。

WORKING NOTES DAY 3 | INTERVIEW

WHY ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS

Q1

Doris: Could you make a brief introduction of yourself?

Velon: I’m Velon, an English teacher in XX English training center. Since graduation from Harbin Normal University, I’ve been doing English related jobs. 2 years as overseas marketing specialist in a well-known logistics company, and 6 years as English teacher, mainly responsible for business English training including drafting teaching materials, esp. for foreign companies. After years teaching, I find that so-called business English training is more focused on English rather than business communication, which is different from what the employer requires from their staff. Now, my 4-year-old daughter is well taken by my family, both my wife and I think it’s time to take more challenging job.

TIPS: Since the HR/ interviewer already has your resume. This question is more about testing your logical skill, language organizational capacity, and whether you can get the keywords of the job you applied for or not. Plus, it’s a relatively easy question to open the interview.

Doris: Why do you think you are qualified for this challenging job?

Velon: The following 4 factors make me confident. Firstly, positive feedbacks from companies and BEC pass rate prove that I know how to teach. And my foreign company working experience enables me to understand business language, which is in line with your slogan, always business, be practical. Secondly, as I know your textbooks are self-developed, which needs to be updated timely and re-designed according to different demands. My approved course design experience will meet your needs. Thirdly, SMT is newly established business oriented company, I think business sense is very important, as a teacher, I also developed over 20 company clients myself.Finally, my passion. It is what I am striving for, a new concept of business English.

Doris: How did you design your training course and teaching materials for company?

Velon: In 3 steps. The first step is to understand company demands. The second step is to understand learners’ level. The third step is to combine English knowledge with real work.

TIPS:Most questions asked are based on your resume with the purpose of verifying authenticity or clear up uncertainties.

Q4

Doris: What's your career plan?

Velon: For English teachers, the opportunities are limited in company. Comparing to simply being a partner of so-called English training center, I'm eager to become a qualified consultant or coacher in 3 years. To coach people how to adapt to an international company. And this is why SMT attract me.
