Why colleges want to change names?

It is prevailing that Chinese colleges change their names in recent years.Data shows that 437colleges have abandoned  their previous  names for a new one,taking 23%in total for the past 6years.In 2015,there are 35clleges are given license  to transform their names .

The argument of names between Luzhou medical universities and Sichuan universities comes from the list  above.The two Sichuan colleges have got their new names approved,including Luzhou college,which named Luzhou medical institute.We discover that some colleges successful ly  upgrades their names while others are not and still fight for their new names.
