今年两会上有哪些“黑科技”？
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, this year’s two sessions were held a bit differently. Different kinds of advanced technology were used to make the meetings go smoothly. Let’s take a look at some of them!
AI anchor
Xinhua revealed (发布) its first 3D AI news anchor, Xin Xiaowei, on May 22. The “female” anchor, the first of its kind in the world, reported on the two sessions. She can move around easily, make gestures and show facial expressions like nodding and blinking (眨眼). She can even change her clothes and hairstyle according to different situations.
The AI anchor was “cloned (克隆)” after Zhao Wanwei, a reporter who works for Xinhua. Zhao wore a data-collecting helmet to help designers create her 3D clone. Hundreds of cameras were used to trace (追踪) her movements and expressions.
Special interviews
On May 20, Dr Cai Weiping, a deputy (代表) to the National People’s Congress, took part in a special interview with Xinhua. He and the interviewer were in two different cities. However, viewers could see their holographic (全息的) images on the same screen. They talked with each other and even “shook hands”, like they were sitting face to face in the same room.
This was made possible thanks to holographic imaging techniques, as well as 5G technology. Holographic imaging is a way to show 3D images of people or things. It requires (要求) high-speed data to work, which is made possible through the use of 5G.
Online press conferences and interviews were also widely conducted (使用) during the sessions. Spokespeople and reporters worked from different rooms. But they could see each other on big screens in their rooms and communicate instantly (实时地).
