A memory of my trip to Siem Reap in Cambodia

About a week ago, I spent nearly five days in Siem Reap in Cambodia.

I went there for the Angkor Wat---- the World Cultural Heritage and the Marathon event.

It cost about five months from the first beginning of the trip to the departure as I booked the ticket for the Marathon in March.

Fortunately, I got a companion.

Unfortunately, we didn't plan well for the first day because we took a night flight and didn't realiaze that it's going to be hard to get two rooms available.

For the rest of the days, I got really fantastic experience through the trip.

The hotel was nice not only because of its good infrastructure, but also for its wonderful service. The swimming pool shined brightly under the sunshine. Waiters and waitressess were always ready to help you, even though some of them can't speak English well.  Breakfast there was free and anyone who lived there can rent a normal bike for free. It surely surprised me because I learned from others that they rented the same kind with one dollar per day and the mountain bike at least five dollars per day.  Then the bike helped me a lot in the last two days. I enjoyed going everywhere with it.

The Angkor Wat is seated in the forests and the whole scenic spot covers wide area. You cannot visit them all in just one day--- for me, it may cost a whole week while I bought a ticket just for three days. You cannot visit them all just on foot.  We took Tuk Tuk---which is a typical local vechile. We rented one for the whole day with twenty-five dollars. The driver would take you to the seperate temples which are a little bit far from each other. Certainly the view and the architectures there are fantastic and  I like them very much. But, to be honest, it may cost another week if I really want to find out the true beauty of the temples. Maybe I'll go there again someday, who knows.

Food there is really different. If you don't like the sour or sweet taste, it will be a nightmare for you to eat there. Of course you can find some Chinese restaurants there, but most of them are quite expensive.  By the way, one bottle of water there often costs you one dollar, which is rather expensive for me.  So I always take my own bottles filled with water.

All in all, I got a lot from this trip.
