It was really difficult for me to focus on studying this morning. I have been sitting in the library for almost three hours, but only two pages of the book in front me have been turned.
Well, if the book were something interesting and helpful, I think there would be no regret for losing all my energy on it, because I think learning is really something meaningful and interesting. It is like the light, which leads you into a world that is more real, deeper and wider.
But there’s nothing useful in the book in front of me. Or maybe I should say some of the knowledge in the book is good. But it is not right to learn it in this way.
I have been studying everything in this book since I was a middle school student.
In high school, we were forced to memorize everything in this book, and since then we became really dull and stupid. We only know memorizing things but don’t even know the meanings of things that have been remembered. So many abilities have been killed since we were children in this way.
One of my Chinese friends always say “Getting a government job means that you cannot think anything since you start to prepare for the test”.
I think maybe she is right, it is not that you are not allowed to think , but you will have no ability to think.
But since this system made us like this, and there are not many choices, so many of us are hungry for it.
Maybe you will say that since this studying is for taking a test, there’s no point in complaining about whether it is interesting or not, useful or not. But haven’t we taken this kind of test our whole lives? Haven’t we lost all of our energy and time on this kind of thing since we were 7?
There is absolutely no hope in life living so mechanically. You know human beings come into this world to live, learn, feel and experience. What’s the purpose of duplicating everything in your brain？
