So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.

退学，退赛，离开。

1.Messi had injured his leg and had to drop out of the match.
梅西的腿受伤了，不得不退出比赛。

2.He'd dropped out of high school at the age of 16.
他 16 岁的时候就从中学退学了

3.I decide to drop out and find a job.
我决定退学去找份工作。

stop doing

停止做某事

1.I can't stop thinking about you 。
我无法停止想你

2.You should stop working and take a break
你应该停止工作，休息一下。

3.If you feel tired , please stop driving.
如果你觉得累了，请停止开车。

stop to do sth

停下来做某事

1.I need to stop to grab something to eat.
我需要停下来吃点东西

2.You should stop to take a break.
你应该停下来休息一下。

3.You should stop to think about what to do next.
你应该停下来想想下一步该怎么办。
