My profile info on iTalki

Hello everyone, it's Genie here in Shanghai, China. I can speak beautiful Chinese with a nice and standard accent. Also, I'm a Cantonese speaker though. I've been learning English (US) and I want it to be native-like. Anyone who is interested in learning Mandarin Chinese BUT SPEAKS ENGLISH as a "FIRST LANGUAGE" can feel free to say Hi and then add me.

FYI, if you don't tell me what color you like the best but still come to send me messages on here, I would probably definitely not reply! I only do language exchanges with NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS, so do not give it a go to see if I'd reply when you know you are not a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER.

Occasionally I get some messages where I can tell people's intention is by no mean about doing language study but about talking casually.

- "Are you single?"

- "Are you married?"

- "Can we be friends because I think you're lookin lovely?"

- “Can't I care about you?”

Honestly I have NO interest to do online romance and there's no point of starting to care about a stranger you just met on the Internet no matter how good she is lookin'. We are here on iTalki to hope to learn foreign languages well, aren't we? —— Well, seems like someone particularly intends to skip this part and comes to say me hi with the intention I really DON'T appreciate.

If we talk for a proper while and then you find my English is really alright and thus start wondering why I'm still on iTalki to look for language exchanges, It's okay for me to let you know the reason. I'm constantly interested in language study and always happy to help or exchange constructive ideas with those who are serious about their language study.

I might probably not reply to messages where you don't tell me what your favorite color is. In this way, I can know you are not spamming me.

(By the way, I think anyone that skips other users' profiles, where their names and locations are offered, and still asks about someone's name and location IS NOT SMART ENOUGH THOUGH.)
