Anything You Want: 40 Lessons for a New Kind of Entrepreneur

You don't need money to start helping people.”,而国人创业讲“排场”,动辄需要成百上千万的投资,要么就一心冲上市。
这类作者不但讲如何创业经营,也将很多自己的人生态度,life style,也许是因为在自由的经济体制和教育背景中成长起来的三观紧密相连吧……

Don't pursue business just for your own gain. Only answer the calls for help.
Success comes from persistently improving and inventing, not from persistently promoting what's not working.
Your business plan is moot, you don't know what people really want until you start doing it.
Starting with no money is an advantage. You don't need money to start helping people.
You can't please everyone, so proudly exclude people.
Make yourself a necessary to the running of your business.
The real point of doing anything is to be happy, so do only what makes you happy.
...They did it saying,"We need the very best'" but it didn't improve anything for the customer. Never forget that absolutely everything you do is for your customers.
I'm so glad I didn't have investors. I didn't have to please anybody but my customers and myself. No effort was spent on anything but my customers.
No "yes" either "hell yeah" or "no".
Instead of picturing a huge organization, you start teach somebody something this week. Find someone who will pay to learn something, meet her anywhere. It will be nothing but you, and a student, you will be in business and you can grow it from there.
Ideas are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.
If you do land big client, that organization will practically owns you.
Most businesses are trying to be everything to everybody. And they wonder why they can't get peoples attention.
You need to confidently exclude people, and proudly say what you are not. By doing so, you will win the hearts of the people you want.
No business goes as planned, so make ten radically different plans. Your first idea is just one of many options. Same thing with your current path in life.
Never promise a customer that you could do something that was beyond your full control.
Make yourself unnecessary to the running of your company.
1. gather everybody around.
2. answer the question and explain the philosophy.
3. make sure everyone understands the thought process.
4. ask one person to write it in the manual
5. let everybody know they can decide this without you next time.
To be a true business owner, make it so that you could leave for a year, and when you came back, your business would be doing better than when you left.
Trust, but verify. Remember when delegating . You have to do both.
You may be much happier as a one million business than a one billion business. Make sure you know what makes you happy, and don't forget it.
