来华传教士和近代中国教育医疗的现代化

15世纪的新航路开辟以来，西方人对前往世界各地传教充满了热情，经5个世纪而不见稍减。

其中，中国是他们重要的一站。19世纪中

期以后的中国，正遭遇严重的民族危机，也同时经历着深刻而剧烈的社会变革。这些变革中，最重要的主题就是国家各个层面的现代化，比如教育现代化、医疗现代

化，如果要追溯源头，都指向了来华传教士。但是这批对中国发展多少起到正面和积极作用的群体，却长期被冠以“文化侵略者”的污名。

2013

年，作家、文化学者沈迦以传教士苏慧廉为核心，出版了非虚构作品《寻找·苏慧廉》，试图还原晚清来华传教士的面目，引起了众多关注。近日，他再次以来华传

教士群体为对象完成了新书《一条开往中国的船：赴华传教士的家国回忆》（新星出版社），即将于2016年1月正式出版。

2015年12月29日，沈迦接受了澎湃新闻的专访，讲述那些年轻的传教士为何不远万里来到中国，建医院、办学校、搞慈善，一待就是几十年，甚至死在中国、葬在中国。沈迦说，他获得的一手材料和口述资料，能够提供另外一种视角。
