Timothy Lee Maxey was charged with unlawful possession of metal or body armor by a felon, according Bullet Proof Vest
 to a police report. Maxey was convicted of the felony offense of evading arrest or detention using a vehicle in May 2008, and it is a third-degree felony for a felon to possess body armor before the fifth anniversary of his release from prison.
Bryan officers served a narcotics search warrant at Maxey's home in the 100 block of Mobile Avenue Wednesday, along with a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of Lakeside, according to a police report. Police had been investigating the two homes for more than a month regarding narcotics activity.
Maxey's mother's name is on the lease, and only she and her youngest son were supposed to be living in the mobile home on Mobile Avenue, according to the report. However, police said they didn't appear to be living in the home, but Maxey did. They reported arresting him after finding a Bullet Proof Vest
just inside a kitchen cabinet.
