3. crack 尝试

eg: take / have a crack at ...

4. get cold feet 过度紧张，吓得两腿发软

eg: Before the speech, I kind of got cold feet.

fess up (to sth.) 坦率地承认

eg: He fessed up to the fact that he was old.

in no time flat [口语]马上，迅速地，在尽可能短的时间内

nerd 书呆子

pinch 表示“危机，困难，紧迫”

out of pinch 就可以表示“摆脱困境”

fork over 表示”（不情愿地）交钱，付钱”

period 表示“（上课的）节、堂”

eg: We have five periods on Monday.
