The Help Chapter 9-16

Several characters are quite interesting in these chapters. The first one is Celia's husbant Johnny. Minny continues working in Celia's house, which has been found out by Mister Johnny. Handsome, wealthy, and considerate as he is, he is even willing to keep Minny's working a secret in order to protect Celia's feelings. What can I say? A good man is hard to find.

The second character is Skeeter. For me, the characterization of Skeeter is somewhat illogical. She has grown up and been friend with a group of typical Southern girls; she went to a quit conservative university Ole Miss; her family environment is harmonious. Then why she grows into such a radical activist? Perhaps it is because her nanny Constantine's influence, her father's occasionally liberal attitude, the social impact, or her physical appearance which compels her to be different.  

The third one is Aibileen. She is the character I like most. She is sophisticated in dealing with the relationships between the hostess and the maid, white people and colored. She has her bottom line for doing her business and is ready to assume the good or bad consequence. What is the most respectable about her is that she does not convert her sadness of a bereft mother into hate or revenge, but into love for a white child and the bravery for recruiting colored maids to write down their stories.
