Most of us have formed an unrealist picture of life on a desert island. The desert island is thought to be a sort of paradise where you never have to work and just wait for ripe
fruit to fall from trees. On the contrary, the desert island is supposed to be a living hell
where you either starve to death or lead the real life of castaways. In fact, few of us
have had the opportunity to live on the desert island. Two man who recently spent five
days on a coral island wished they had stayed there longer. They had to stay on the
island while their boat was damaged during their journey. Fortunately for them, the men had a small rubber dinghy loaded with food, matches, cans of beer and a spear gun. As there were no trees and water on the island, they collected rainwater in the rubber
dinghy and used the spear gun to catch lobster and fish. So when they were picked up by a passing tanker, both men were genuinely sorry that they had to leave.
