Charbagh bus terminal turns CCBT

LUCKNOW: With the shifting of inter-state and inter-city bus terminal (ISBT) from Charbagh to Ambedkar Bus Station in Alambagh from August 1, the Charbagh bus terminal would start functioning as Central City Bus Terminal (CCBT).

UP State Road Transport Corporation managing director Sanjay Bhoosreddy said that the ISBT would be functional from midnight of July 31 and a round-the-clock shuttle bus service between Charbagh and Alambagh bus station would be operational from the same time.

“This decision has been taken to ensure that any inconvenience is not caused to the passengers getting down at Charbagh railway station and those who want to undertake onward journey by UPSRTC buses,” said Bhoosreddy.

He said that the Charbagh bus station would be the hub for the operation of city buses in the state capital. “Since the shifting of ISBT to Alambagh was taken to decongest the area around Charbagh, directions have been issued to park all the city buses operating in the vicinity of Charbagh in the compound of the bus terminal,” said the MD, adding that no city bus would be allowed to stop on the road in front of the CCBT.

City bus service for Amausi, engineering college, Aliganj, Chinhat, Gomtinagar, Indiranagar and Dubagga would be operated from the CCBT from August 1 under the direct supervision of regional manager of city buses.
