Had a strange error today. After some successful Windows 7 deployments to a Dell Latitude D630 test machine I got this error:
The Task Sequence has been suspended. LiteTouch has encountered an Environment Error (Boot into WinPE!).
I was pretty sure nothing happened to my Task Sequences, it must have something to do with the client machine.
Booted the laptop into the earlier deployed Windows 7 operating system, and deleted the two directories MDT has made:
After removing these directories, the error was history!
Create a batch file (cleanTs.bat)with the below lines
RD /S /Q c:\minint
RD /S /Q c:\_SMSTaskSequence
————————————-
Mount the Litetouch..WIM from Boot folder
Copy the batch file to \windows\system32
Now open unattend.xmlfrom \deploy
Replace the below lines
” 1″
“wscript.exe X:\Deploy\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf”
with (make sure you dont copy the quotes (“))
“1″
“wscript.exe X:\Deploy\Scripts\cleants.bat”
“2″
“wscript.exe X:\Deploy\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf”
Save unattend.xml.
Unmount the WIM with “Commit”
Litetouch.wsf is the script which looks if a previous installtion is present on the destination drive, using the above method we are first cleaning the destination drive and then running litetouch.wsf
