part 2

Describe a time you got incorrect information.

You should say:

· When you got the information

· Who gave you the information

· How you found out the information was incorrect

· And explain how you felt about it.

Presentation

We get incorrect information all the time. I'd like to talk about the time I got the wrong navigation to a restaurant. As you know, Chengdu is a city famous for its food culture. One of the relaxations for my husband and me is to look for unique and tasty food on the weekend. So last month, when I was browsing on the internet randomly, I saw a restaurant which quickly caught my eyes. I told my husband about it then we decided to eat dinner there. It was 20 km away from our home, so we used the navigator app to guide us there when we drove. After about an hour, we arrived at the location on the app, but there was no restaurant at all. We asked a few people whether they knew about this restaurant and found that it had moved to a new place, 20 km away from where we were. We understood the app got the old address not the new one. We were very exhausted and had no extra energy to travel another 20 km. At last, we went back home and cooked for ourselves. It was very frustrating experience and I felt I need to be more careful about these navigational routes.

Part 3

· What would you do if your employee gives a piece of incorrect information?

Well, I haven't got the chance to start my own business so I don't know have any real experience. but if there were incorrect information, I would ask him or her for the reason of telling this wrong information. I intended to use direct approach to set up the communication between me and my employee. Because I believe if I were an employee of another person, I would hope he would treat me in the same way.

· How can you make sure to give correct details?

Well, I would take writing as an example to talk about how to be sure to give correct details. Whenever I write about stuff, like a report or a note to someone else, I would triple check the information after I wrote them down. It is sometimes a tiring thing to do, but at least I can make all the information right.

· What will you do if you find out that you have given wrong information to others?

I would find them and tell them honestly that I had given them incorrect information. It is common for people to make mistakes. My point is never fear to correct the mistakes. Sometimes we are afraid that it would lower our credibility but the truth is that honesty is the only way to gain people's trust. So just be honest and tell them you got it wrong before it is too late.

· Is it easy for people to admit their mistakes in daily life?

Well, I think it is sometimes hard for people to accept that they are wrong about something. We've always thought we know more about one thing than we actually do. But we should admit our mistakes as soon as possible. It is a great way to gain people's trust and show that even though you might be wrong sometimes, you are still trustworthy and people can count on you.

· Why do some people never make mistakes in their work?

Well, firstly, it's about their personality, they are very cautious about everything, so they check every step, every bit of their work carefully, twice. Secondly, people make good plans about their work, and they do it accordingly, so they never rush into things, and never in a hurry. They got plans for daily routines as well as emergencies. I think these are the two reasons why some of us never make mistakes in our work.
