1，太阳位于太阳系的中心，也是在太阳系最先形成的天体。

2，水星的昼夜温差极大，是太阳系行星之最。白天时候赤道地区温度可达430℃，夜晚可降至-170℃。
3，水星的公转速度是太阳系行星里面最快的。
水星的自转速度很慢。自转周期是58.6个地球日。每2.01个水星年里，只有3个水星天。
4，金星是太阳系里火山最多的行星。
5，八大行星的公转方向都同太阳的自转方向一致。
行星的自转方向也大多与他的公转方向一致，称为顺行自转。金星的自转方向和他的公转方向相反。
但是金星自转的很慢，他的一天比一年长很多。
有一种简单的说法是小行星撞击了进行，让它的自转方向发生改变。
5，天王星的自转轴和轨道倾角高达98°，可以说是躺在轨道平面上的。
对天王星为何躺倒，通常的猜想是在太阳系形成的时候，一颗地球大小的原行星撞击到他，造成的指向的歪斜。
