小时候父亲做的一件事情，一直到今天还让我记忆犹新。

Sometimes when walking on the road and seeing bricks or stones on the side of the road, he would pick them up and put them in a basket to take home. Over time, there was a messy pile of bricks and rubble in my yard. I couldn't understand the usefulness of this pile of things. I just felt that my father had left no room for manoeuvre in the small yard. Until one day, my father began to dig ditches and mud walls in the small open space in the corner of the yard, and pieced together the piles of broken bricks left and right, and a small square house came up unexpectedly. My father drove pigs and sheep running in the open air everywhere into the small house, and then cleaned the yard.

每一天的努力都是凝聚父亲是个木工，常常帮别人建房子，每次建完房子，他都会把别人废弃不要的碎砖烂瓦捡回来，或一块两块，或三块五块。有时候走在路上，看见路边有砖头或石块，他也会捡起来放在篮子里带回家。久而久之，我家院子里多出了一个乱七八糟的砖头碎瓦堆。我搞不清这一堆东西的用处，只觉得本来就小的院子被父亲弄得没有了回旋的余地。直到有一天，父亲在院子一角的小空地上开始开沟挖槽、和泥砌墙，用那堆烂砖左拼右凑，一间四四方方的小房子居然拔地而起。父亲把本来养在露天到处乱跑的猪和羊赶进小房子，再把院子打扫干净，我家就有了全村人都羡慕的院子和猪舍。

当时我只是觉得父亲很了不起，一个人就盖了一间房子。那时我家穷得几乎连吃饭都成问题，但我父亲没有放弃，日复一日捡砖头碎瓦，终于有一天有了足够的砖头来造心中的房子。

后来的日子里，这件事情凝聚成的精神一直在激励着我。在我做事的时候，我一般都会问自己两个问题：一是做这件事情的目标是什么，二是需要多少努力才能够把这件事情做成，之后就要有足够的耐心，因为砖头不是一天就能捡够的
