A Person Who Has Shaped My Life

——— Embrace Yourself

The story I’m going to tell, is about a girl who has shaped my life. Just like any other girl, she loves being pretty, being confident and even being normal. But sometimes things just don’t go as she expected. In order to please the people who she loved she was always following the lead. No matter how hard she tried life didn’t wrap her in its arms but trapped her in an endless struggle. It seemed like she was shaped, round without any edges and corners. But her college life, fortunately, brought an end to her struggle and helped her edges and corners to sprout.

College is a perfect place to bring changes to people’s lives. She made good use of her time to read, to meet new people and to explore a whole new world. By reading, she found out how ignorant and small she really was. By meeting new people she noticed that no one was not normal at all. And by exploring new things she learned that if she couldn’t change the situation, she would consider accepting it. As time marches on, she started to accept the reality, for example, accepting how ignorant she was, how small she was or how vulnerable she was at the time and trying to come up with an idea to solve it. Under these circumstances she became more aware of the voice from within. She began to listen to what was calling from inside more rather than following the lead blindly. Eventually she turned to embrace the way she was and embraced the way life is.

After all this, she ended up getting closer and closer to her real self. Now she is pretty and confident, and more than that she is pretty confident to stand right here to share her own story with all of you. What I wanted to say is that during our life journey we would constantly discover the new me, and challenge the old me and become a brand new me again. And that means our life is actually a shaping process run by ourselves, so if you can’t change yourself all the time why not try to embrace yourself some of the time...

Thank you!
