C46344-Day5-Texas blackouts raise climate warning

Extreme winter weather hit Texas where dropped  thick snow and left millions without power. Although energy regulators warned the state’s electric-grid operators ,they were ill-prepared for the winter storm, which caused a havoc in Texas with equipments of power plants frozen ,fuel supply slowed and water supply turned off. Affected by the polar vortex, the weather events may be extreme and complex in the future, which will look nothing like the past. In recent years, large swaths of electric grid like California and northern California in the US have proved incapable of keeping up with climate curveballs. As the saying of experts goes, communities should develop more localized energy production and planners need to do a better job thinking holistically. Facing the new climate,we are supposed to have a new way of thinking and the time for both is ready.
