Aeroplanesare slowlydrivingme mad.I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard nightand day. The airport was built years ago, but for some reason it could not be used then. Last year, however, it came into use. Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

音标/ aɪ/的发音方法：
1）学习该音发音方法请先学习/ɑː/和/ɪ/这两个单元音。
2）双唇张开，开始发/ɑː/音。
3）舌部肌肉放松，然后颚部慢慢抬起滑向/ɪ/音，嘴唇慢慢合上。
注意：/aɪ/是个"开合双元音"，即牙床由半开到接近半合，口形由大到小。发音时舌位由低到高，音量由强到弱，由长到短，由清晰到含糊。
