一、请说出lay out/off/aside/down的意思

lay out：铺展／展开

如：They lay out the map.

还有“设计／构思”之意

如：We should think about how the garden is laid out.

lay off：裁员。

如：The company is laying out their workers.

中止，停止

如：please lay off smoking.

lay aside 把...放在一边

如：please lay aside your book;

look at me.

放弃某种情感。

如：This work needs you to lay aside your personal feelings.

lay down（坚决）阐述／规定

如：He lays down that ...

还有“放下武器”之意。

“发号施令”：lay down the law.

二、wish表虚拟的用法

wish虚拟语气语法，跟宾语从句

1:若是表示对现在虚拟，从句用过去时,表达个人的愿望

2: 若是表示对过去虚拟，从句用过去完成时，表示遗憾

3:若是表示对将来的才想，用would/could do sth，表示祝愿，未来很难实现

plausible  貌似合理的，人花言巧语的

plump人很胖的谦称

eg. you are plump.

placid人的态度很平和＋环境很静谧
