《Game of Thrones》作为一部最火美剧，哈佛大学为它专门开了一门——“The Real Game of Thrones: From Modern Myths to Medieval Models”（真实的权力的游戏：从现代神话到中世纪模型）的课程，课程以改编电视剧为范例，向学生们讲解真实的中世纪。
而加州大学伯克利分校也开了几门与此有关的课程，比如说跟电影研究有关的“Film Genre: Game of Thrones”（电影类型：权力的游戏）课程，以及“The Linguistics of Game of Thrones and the Art of Language Invention”《权力的游戏》语言学及语言创作的艺术”。
