In fact, the ability to emotionally regulate or maintain emotional control when confronted by stress is one of the most important of all life’s skills.

翻译体会：

1.中英文单词的处理，model n.模范、榜样 v.模仿；塑造

在原文中model a lack of emotional control of your kids以及model tolerance and patience都直接翻译成：树立……的榜样。

2.越来越，一般都会想到more and more / better and better结构。其实，还可以用increasingly这个结构

3.定语从句和状语的的翻译

In fact, the ability to emotionally regulate or maintain emotional control when confronted by stress is one of the most important of all life’s skills.

句子主干：the ability is one of the most important of all life’s skills.能力是最重要的生活技能之一。 或 能力是生活中最重要的技能之一。

什么样的ability呢？后面用不定式 to do来修饰/解释说明。情绪调节或保持情绪控制的能力

when confronted by stress是个时间状语从句，这里省略了you are. 还原进去就是，when you are confronted by stress.

当从句中的主语和主句中的主语一致的情况下，从句中的主语和谓语的一部分（be动词）或全部可以省略。

英语中状语的位置比较灵活，翻译的时候一般按照中文的习惯放到句子前面。
