be from和come from 一定程度上可以互换
用动词 be+from “来自”,表示一个人在某地出生,有祖籍的意思
动词词组 come from “来自”,简单说从哪里来,但不一定是出生地. 对于 he , she 和 it ,在动词 come 后加s.
例:
I am from China. 我来自中国. (我是中国人)
I came from China. 我从中国来. (但不一定是中国人)
用动词 live + in 表示一个人现在居住某地但不一定在那里出生.
对于he,she 和 it ,在动词 live 后加 s.
在...,在哪个国家或城市,前面介词都用in.
I am from Australia. 我来自澳大利亚.
I live in China. 我住在中国.
He is from Japan. 他来自日本.
She comes from Germany. 她来自德国
如果加上首都的话,首都放在国家的前面.

where “哪里”, 指地点
用where 疑问句询问某人来自哪里以及一个地方在哪里.
—— where are you from? 您来自哪里?
—— I`m from shanghai. 我来自上海.
( 此处的上海也可以用it指代,It is in China. )
这里也可以直接回答: I'm from shanghai, China.
在问句中,如果come from 和be from 互换的话, 应加助动词 do
