B24181-Day5-Texas blackouts raise climate warning

Texas has experienced blackouts thanks to extreme weathers, still ill-prepared after being warned decades ago. Recently it has witnessed a chain of damages from natural gas well iced over to power being cut off. The finger may be pointed to the weakened electricity infrastruture, the power plant left unfixed, etc. for which all breaks down when the storms attacked. However, it may also boils down to one truth - climate change is worsening. That has been proved by following cases in point - Arctic where the temperature is getting higer and rising faster, Califonia that suffered a heat wave last summer but had to cut off power for fear of power lines going wrong, and the 22 weather and climate events in total last year-  a record-high - that cost over $i billion. All these mentioned only add insult to injury. As Texas is at great stake, experts suggest that communities get down to improving all the infrastruture. For the elctric grid, especially, planners should think holistically. In short, a new climate calls for a new way of thinking.
