I ask theindulgenceof the children who may read this book for dedicating it to a grown-up.

get——I ask the indulgence of sth 我请求宽容某事

indulgence 英 /ɪn'dʌldʒ(ə)ns/ n 嗜好 放纵 宽容 包涵

indulgenced  /indulgenced /indulgencing

self-indulgent   

adj. 任性的,放纵的

willingness to ignore someone's faults or weakness宽容,包涵

somthing that you do or have for pleasure嗜好,爱好

the habit of allowing yourself to do or have whatever you want,or allowing someone else to do or have whatever they want 沉溺;放纵;纵容

I have a serious reason: he is the best friend I have in the world. 

I have another reason: this grown-up understands everything, even books about children. 

I have a third reason: he lives in France where he is hungry and cold.

get——I have a serious/ another/ a third reason 我有一个重要的/还有一个/第三个理由

 He needs cheering up. 

get——I need some cheering up 我需要振作起来

            If you need any more cheering up, let meknow.如果你还需要人打气,告诉我

If all these reasons are not enough, I will dedicate the book to the child from whom this grown-up grew. 

get——dedicatevt. 致力;献身;题献 dedicated / dedicated / dedicating

               to dedicate:To deal with political affairs, we do need you to dedicate rather than denefit.

               在政治中我们需要能有所奉献的人,而不是想有所收获的人。                    

               dedicate yourself献给自己

All grown-ups were oncechildren—although few of them remember it. And so I correct my dedication:

get——dedication是上个单词的名词, 奉献;献身;赠言

               We must praise their courage and dedication.我们必须赞扬他们的勇气和奉献。

我请求可能阅读这本书的孩子们,原谅我将此书献给一个成年人。我有一个重要的理由:他是我在这个世界上最好的朋友。我还有一个理由:这个成年人什么都懂,甚至是关于孩子们的书籍。我还有第三个理由:他住在法国,在那里挨饿受冻。他需要得到鼓励,振作起来。如果这些理由还不够,我愿将此书献给孩童时的这个大人。所有的成年人都曾是孩子(尽管其中很少人记得这一点)。于是我将献词改为:


喜欢一起学习英语的朋友,我们多多交流,一起进步,学习是需要点滴付出的,我们的努力,时间看得见。
