count作为动词有如下含义：

Number数数--to say the names of numbers one after the other in order, or to calculate the number of people or things in a group；

Have value有价值，重要--to have value or importance; to matter；

Consider认为或被认为，考虑在内，计算在内-- to consider or be considered as;

例句：I've had three jobs in the last five years, but one of them was unpaid, so it doesn't count (= cannot be considered as a real job).
