Cisco正式停止MARS产品的销售

2010年12月3日，Cisco发布公告称，将于2011年6月3日之后正式停止MARS（Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Response System）的销售。并且，停止销售的型号是当前在售的所有型号。报告称目前无思科自有替代产品，并推荐客户选择其他SIEM产品作为替代。

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Security Manager and to the Security Information and Event Management ecosystem partners for their security management needs. For security managed services, customers are encouraged to evaluate Cisco Remote Management Services.

终于，Cisco放弃了这个产品线，2004年底的 Protego收购案如今惨淡收场。而在2008年，思科 放弃了与NetForensics的SIMS产品的合作。不过，Cisco并不会放弃网络安全市场，相反，应该会物色新的收购对象。09年就有人建议思科收购ArcSight，而今ArcSight已经被思科的对手——HP——抢先一步了，那么他该找谁呢？NetForensics？恐怕这是唯一一家创立于2000年初期的“老”SIEM厂家了（他同时代的对手如e-security, Network Intelligence, GuardedNet, Micromuse, Consul, Intellitectics, OpenService, Arcsight等都已经易主）。
