激战第三方交易平台导致帐号信息泄漏

ArenaNet has not released too many details, but it appears that a third party trading site for Guild Wars was compromised resulting in many players' accounts being hacked because... they disclose game account data (or use their same names and passwords, it is a bit unclear) at the third party site.

This is similar to the problem discussed last week for Jagex's Runescape.

Game companies need to be aware of the risks posed by fan sites (as well as their own access control design). It may make sense to offer a "third party signon" API to help fan sites secure themselves.
