Traits of a Software Professional

While recruiting software developers, mainly we look for heir technical knowledge and experience.By looking at the CV alone, we cannot judge a person(A CV may have misleading information).

 

These are the characteristics which I believe are common in GOOD software developers

 

1. Passionate about Programming - Rather than sticking on to a work assigned to them, they will always be willing to do some Programming even if they are not paid for that.  A good programmer has a burning desire and curiosity to learn new things every day and researches unfamiliar terms.

 

2. Honest and humble -  If made a mistake, they will surely admit it and unafraid to admit they don’t know something.

 

3. Be a leader & Team Player - They will always be a good leader. They will always motivate the subordinates and will always take responsibility of mistakes of the team  and always appreciate and encourages team members

 

4. Positive outlook & loves complicated works - They always love to take up challenging works and will think of all possible ways to solve a problem.  They discover methods  to solve problems that others don’t see and comes up with better ways of doing things. They will be self motivated and will be with full of energy.

 

5. Maximum focus to work - They will dedicate fully without any distractions. To them work is a sort of enjoyment.

 

6.  Strive for Perfection - They write quality code and tries to improve it.

 

Those that have these attributes will surely win in their career.
