Market Research Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARYThe Enterprise Storage Division enables EMC’s customers to deploy virtual data centers with the world’s most powerful and trusted networked storage including the industry-leading Symmetrix VMAX storage array line as well the next-generation VPLEX storage virtualization solution.

The Market Research Analyst facilitates the division’s strategic direction and product offerings with market research and strategic communications. Supports the growth of the business by regularly analyzing the storage and adjacent markets. Develops market research analysis and segmentation of related ecosystems. Assists with the development of complex business presentations and strategies. Collects and synergizes material from data from a diverse set of internal and external organizations into clear messages for audiences at all levels.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Analyze adjacent markets to identify trends, leaders and opportunities to support business objectives• Perform exploratory data analysis to assess the attractiveness of markets and companies with (within) these markets at the direction of management• Assist with the production of market and opportunity summary presentations• Produce (Generate) regular business summary reports and presentations for executive consumption and delivery• Maintain insight into assigned products and development initiatives within EMC and its investment partners• Perform ad hoc market and data analysis and reporting

SKILLS• Strong conceptual thinker with a creative flair• Superior PowerPoint? skills and good writing and communication skills• Experience with gathering and mining industry/market research and competitive intelligence• Ability to translate complex concepts into a coherent narrative for executive consumption• Financial and analytical experience• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and/or programs impacting business goals and objectives• Capable of grasping key technology concepts and understanding the business implications thereof • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Education Required: Bachelors (business or technical degree preferred)Experience Required: 2-4 Years; Experience supporting strategic consulting firms preferredPhysical Requirements: No
