ruby ror ubuntu linux

1. install ruby 1.8 (needed when install rvm)
sudo apt-get install ruby


2. install rvm

dependence:
sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install curl
sudo apt-get install git-core
sudo apt-get install zlib1g-dev libreadline5-dev libssl-dev libxml2-dev
sudo apt-get install rubygems1.9.1

install from git repository:
bash < <( curl http://rvm.beginrescueend.com/releases/rvm-install-head )

config bashrc manually, add following code to the end of ~/.bashrc
[[ -s "$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm" ]] && . "$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm" 

logout and login to test if rvm successfully installed:
type rvm | head -n1

the above command should bring out:

3. use rvm to install ruby 1.9.2 and set it as default:
rvm install 1.9.2
rvm --default ruby-1.9.2

4. check ruby version:
ruby -v

5. install rails (and its dependencies)
sudo gem install rails

6. install sqlite3
sudo apt-get install sqlite3 libsqlite3-dev
bundle install

7. test your install:
rails new testapp
