The role: Developer Advocate

As a Google Developer Advocate, you will be an advocate of and evangelist for the adoption of our developer products (This role will focus on Android products). This position will be You bring strong and well-rounded coding skills in a wide range of web/AJAX technologies along with excellent writing and presenting skills. You will be measured on growth in adoption of our developer products and our overall developer community. You need to be able to work equally well with technology executives and developers at our partner companies.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in architectural and design discussions with strategic partners to speed adoption and ensure best practices during implementation.
• Actively develop reference implementations for Google products and APIs and provide technical training to partner engineering teams.
• Advocate for and evangelize Google developer products and APIs in multiple mediums.
• Present at internal and external developer conferences and other events globally.
• Influence Google developer product strategy by working with product management, engineering, marketing, business development and operations.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a similar technical degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of valid work experience as a software developer, architect, technology evangelist or product manager for relevant web technologies.
• Excellent public speaking skills and charisma, with solid experience presenting at developer conferences.
• Strong command of the web/AJAX development technology landscape.
• Experience blogging and writing technical articles with proven experience working with technology press, online journalists and bloggers.
• Solid programming abilities in more than one of the following languages: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, .NET, JavaScript and Perl.
• Fluency in Chinese and English.
