1) vSAN SE Job Description

As a vSAN SE, you will collaborate very closely with AccountTeams to drive VMware vSAN business in East and South of China.

As a specialist pre-sales you will be customer facing,engaged in first calls, meetings, presentations, PoC's, documentation, demos,and installs. You need to help accelerate the sales cycle, remove obstacles,and be the technical expert in the room. You will need to whiteboard, demo,present technical material, qualify, and quantify sales opportunities to differentstakeholders within our customer’s organization, both technical andnon-technical. You must have a wealth of experience with storage andvirtualization pre-sales. This is a huge opportunity to make a massive positiveimpact to our customers, with storage virtualization, as they continue thejourney to SDDC and beyond.

Responsibilities:

·        Drive SDS technical evaluation and validationconversations, onsite and remote, including product demonstrations and Proof ofConcepts (PoCs) directly with customers or SDS partners

·        Articulate domain and product positioning to bothbusiness and technical users

·        Identify all technical issues of assignedaccounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of thesales process

·        Establish and maintain strong relationshipsthroughout the sales cycle

·        Mentoring and enabling Field and Channel in supportingterritories.

·        Present VMware’s vision, strategy, and productroadmaps to executives, technical management and technical engineers

·         Maintaindeep technical and business knowledge of Software Defined Storage (SDS), industrydirections, and trends

·        Maintain working knowledge of competitive solutionsand architectures.

·        Maintain a full understanding of VMware’s wider visionand how SDS fits into it

·        Sharing vSAN technical knowledge in the VMwareinternal SE community

·        Work in close collaboration with the StorageBusiness Unit, including Product Management, Product Marketing, etc.


Requirements:

·        Solid experience in pre-sales storage technologyand virtualization related work, including roles in Pre-sales, TechnicalAccount Sales or IT Consulting

·        Experience in architecting the storage side ofvirtualized solutions of enterprise scale

·        Great communication skills and personal skillswith the ability to speak to crowds at all levels
 Strong presentation skills and theability to build and present high quality demonstrations to both technical andexecutive audiences

·        Experience with enterprise applications,security, systems management and business continuity solutions a plus

·        Experience troubleshooting system level problemsincluding server failure, OS tuning and networking problems

·        Strong IT-infrastructure technical skillsincluding x86 server platforms, network architectures, routing, Linux operatingsystem expertise, SAN/NAS storage technologies

·        Knowledge and experience in following areas:vSAN, VxRail, Nutanix, Ceph or other SDS technologies.

·        Good knowledge of application like Oracle, MSSQL, Hadoop etc. knowledge will be good value add

·        Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of atechnical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base

·        Fluent in English is a pre-requisite





2) vSAN Product SalesSpecialist


Overview:

The Product Sales Specialist isresponsible for selling VMware’s Software-defined Storage product(s) toCommercial and Enterprise accounts, leveraging an extended team that includesVMware’s core sales force, SEs, OEM partners and channel partners. Thisincludes prospecting, developing, forecasting and closing opportunitiesdirectly and through channels. This extended team is driven to a common goalwithin an assigned territory. vSAN is a key component of VMware’s SoftwareDefined Data Center strategy. vSAN enables customers to achieve the agility,flexibility, and cost savings required to keep up with modern IT requirements.With our product, virtualization environments can achieve a dramatic increasein performance, up to a 90% reduction in storage, and the ability to abstract& simplify storage. This is an opportunity to join an exciting and rapidlygrowing business within VMware. The vSAN sales team will work in coordinationwith VMware’s core sales team + VMware’s partner network.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop a business plan to drive sales throughchannel partners. Prioritize different GTM and key partners within them.

·        Be responsible for achieving sales targetsthrough partners, on a quarterly basis.

·        Plan and execute sales campaigns throughchannel partners.

·        Work closely with sales representatives ondeveloping opportunities and closing deals.

·        Must communicate well, both oral and writtencommunication.

·        Be an effective presenter & teacher, whocan pitch & demonstrate VMware vSAN to channel personnel as well as endcustomers.

Requirements:

·        5+ years related experience in productor channel sales

·        Familiar with cloud, virtualization,storage or HCI technology.

·        Experience selling in an overlayor product sales specialist capacity

·        Experience selling in both adirect and an indirect or channel driven model

·        Experience leading a team ofprofessionals in sales campaigns that include sales executives, field SE’s,Inside Sales, Field Marketing, Services, etc.

·        Proven track record of successselling in a highly competitive environment

·        BA/BS degree or higher, or equivalentjob related experience
