桌面环境不是服务器的必须配件，但有时安装和使用一个应用要求有一个桌面环境。本节介绍如何搭建一个桌面环境。

1、安装一个GNOME桌面环境。

[root@dlp ~]#yum -y groupinstall "X Window System"
[root@dlp ~]#yum -y groupinstall "Desktop"
[root@dlp ~]#yum -y groupinstall "General Purpose Desktop"

2、在安装完上面的包后，执行如下命令，启动一个桌面环境

[root@dlp ~】#startx

3、GNOME桌面环境启动后的样子如下图：
