Step by step to install WordPress on CentOS 7

1. disable SELinux

$ setenforce 0

$ sed -i 's/enforcing/disabled/g' /etc/selinux/config

2. install required packages

$ yum install httpd php php-common php-mysqlnd php-mbstring php-gd mariadb-server mod_ssl -y

3. enable access to access web server

$ sed -i 's/AllowOverride none/AllowOverride all/g' /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

4. start web server and database

$ systemctl start httpd && systemctl start mariadb

5. create mysql database and users

$ mysql
> CREATE DATABASE wordpress
> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON wordpress.*TO 'wordpress'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY ''
> exit

6. download wordpress

$ curl -O https://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz
$ tar zxvf latest.tar.gz
$ mkdir /var/www/html/
$ mv wordpress/* /var/www/html/

7. give priority to web server to access wordpress directory

$ chown -R apache:apache /var/www/html

8. change wordpress file access priority to 777

$ chmod -R 777 /var/www/html

9. change wordpress file access method to 'direct' in wp-config.php

define('FSMETHOD', 'direct');

8. go your domain to set things up!
