Marseille

马赛(Marseille,英文也称Marseilles)是法国东南沿海利湾东北岸,濒临地中海的西北侧,包括福斯(FOS)及布克(B-OUC)等港区,原属于普罗旺斯省(Provence)。它是法国最大的商业港口,也是地中海最大的商业港口。


On the 24th of February, 1810, the look-out at Notre-Dame de la Garde signalled the three-master, the Pharaon from Smyrna, Trieste, and Naples.

Notre-Dame de la Garde (literally Our Lady of the Guard) is a Catholic basilica in Marseille, France.  This Neo Byzantine church was built by the architect Henri-Jacques Espérandieu on the foundations of an ancient fort. The fort was located at the highest natural elevation in Marseille, a 149 m (489 ft) limestone outcropping on the south side of the Old Port of Marseille. It is an important local landmark and the site of a popular annual pilgrimage every year on Assumption Day, 15 August.

Off Civita Vecchia we lost our brave Captain Leclere

Civita vecchia is a town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Rome in the central Italian region of Lazio. A sea port on the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is located 80 kilometres (50 miles) west-north-west of Rome, across th eMignone river. The harbour is formed by two piers and a breakwater, on which is a light house. The name Civitavecchia means "ancient town".
