Respect Works Both Ways

Respect works both ways and if you expect to receive it, you should ensure you also give it.

I once wrote a journal about a mother and daughter having fantastic baking skills, whose real names are actually Kam and Ling. They always come together for treatments just like two intimate sisters. Despite the high treatment expenses, Ling insists on a long-term treatment plan and I bet she's a good daughter. As the old saying goes, "One with chronic illness drives away even the most filial piety son." So she's really doing a nice job! All in all, kin is the most valuable treasure we could ever own in this world.

Today she told me that she's considering taking another job in order to shorten the commuting time to and back from her workplace. Although she's enjoying her current job working as an administrator at a school, she finds it necessary to strike a better balance between work and life. And further she shared her experience cooperating with her boss, which is very worth learning. As she said, everyone has his or her individual strengths and weaknesses and the relevance lies in the fact we could work in harmony and get the work done in a perfect way. For instance, Ling's boss isn't so fluent with computer skills and he'd allocate this type of work all to her. Every time Ling could complete the assigned tasks quickly with a satisfactory performance, thus gradually becoming a good helper in her team. Unlike other colleagues, who tend to be critical about their boss's leading style and personal behavior, Ling prefers to focus on assisting him and also make him feel very good with himself. I find, every boss enjoys working with such staff, or?

No one is genius, even some people orientate themselves as genius, they need guidance and support now and then. No matter in life or at work, respect plays a big part and is a two-way street. If you want to gain it, you must show it first.

No one is idiot, if you just pretend to be respectful of others but think otherwise in you heart, you'd reveal this secret sooner or later. So please stop complaining or yelling but change yourself as the world won't adapt to your needs and expectations.
