Spoken word poetry - to Jo

If I am a prince,

You are my country girl,

I wasn't looking for the counterpart among the mountain lilies,

The court the palace is where ladies cluster

There they present they hearts to me

behind an elegant Chinese fan

Yet you shine beside their laces of diamonds

Their roses pinned on the shoulder

As you are a rose yourself,

Dressed and accessorized by God Himself

Even all king Solomon's splendor in his most glorious time,

cannot be compared to your naked face

Your braids are weaved with the morning dew

Your eyes give off the light of the rising sun, and the serene moon and the mysterious stars

All at the same time.

If I am a princess,

You are the knights that guard under my window

Night after night,

As if that is a duty itself

Actually I don't know if you take it as a duty

Or you simply want to do that

I cannot tell

Love has blinded my confidence

And made you more enigmatic than any wizard

When I know

Deep deep down at my heart

You hold a clear sky in your mind

Without a trace of dark clouds

Free from menace and conniving

Yet when the war thumps closer and closer to our kingdom

You charged off bearing a sword

Not even looking back

As precious as you told me that I am to you

You have to defend the people

There is always something more important than I am,

But hey, that is why you are so important to me.

Yet life has tricked us,

You are a princess, but

I am the knight's sister...
