it behooves somebody to do something: used to say that someone should so something because it is right or necessary, or it will help them. 

仿句:It behooves you and your partner to consider the financing channel before getting started. 

2. The noise outside the car was deafening: a million marbles hitting a million tin roofs, a million radios all crackling on the same non-station. 

deafening: very loud

仿句:After a deafening roar at that night, a complete silence occupied the forest. 

3. James, not attuned to the sensitivities of the playground, was suddenly annoyed at his son’s shyness, his reluctance. 

be/become attuned to: to be or become familiar with the way someone thinks or behaves so that you can react to them in a suitable way. 

仿句:He's really not attuned to the situation of expressing his personal view in public places. 

4. The confident young man in his imagination dwindled to a nervous little boy: skinny, small, hunched so deeply that his chest was concave. 

dwindle: if supplies or numbers of something dwindle, they gradually decrease. 

仿句:The tall handsome prince dwindled to a small ugly beast.
